Babcock Ranch, FL - Teen Killed in Crash on Saw Palmetto Pkwy.
Babcock Ranch, FL (April 5, 2023) - A 16-year-old boy died in a car accident that took place in Babcock Ranch on Wednesday, April 5th. The crash happened just after 6:00 a.m. on Saw Palmetto Parkway.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports that an SUV was traveling eastbound when the driver lost control while negotiating a curve. The SUV traveled off the road, and then the driver overcorrected, causing the car to strike several palm trees in the median. The vehicle then overturned and came to rest.
The driver suffered minor injuries while the passenger was critically hurt and was rushed to a local hospital, where they later died. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
