Brooksville, FL - Motorcyclist Killed in Crash with Truck on Medical Center Dr.

Brooksville, FL (March 18, 2023) - A man from Brooksville was killed in a motorcycle crash on Friday night, March 17th. The accident occurred on Medical Center Drive at State Road 50.

According to a report, a 58-year-old man was riding a motorcycle eastbound on SR 50. At the same time, a truck was making a U-turn at Medical Center Drive. The approaching motorcycle collided with the truck, ejecting the rider from his bike. The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The 52-year-old driver of the truck was not hurt in the accident. The victim has not been identified.

 
Motorcycle accidents claim the lives of hundreds of victims each year. In many instances, motorcyclists are not at fault for the collision. Drivers often fail to see or fail to yield to motorcycles and in the process cause a catastrophic accident. Police will continue to investigate this collision in order to determine who should be held responsible.
