Brooksville, FL - One Killed, One Hurt in Crash on CR 493
Brooksville, FL (March 13, 2023) - A man was killed, and a woman suffered serious injuries after a car accident in Brooksville on Saturday, March 11th. The accident took place just before 7:00 p.m. on County Road 493, also known as Sunshine Grove Road.
According to a report, a 63-year-old man from Weeki Wachee was driving a pickup truck north on CR 493, approaching the intersection with CR 476. The man tried to make a left turn when he arrived at the intersection. At the same time, a 16-year-old was driving a pickup truck eastbound on CR 476. As the man turned, he struck the woman's pickup truck, causing the truck to leave the road and crash into a traffic sign.
The man died at a local hospital following the accident. The woman suffered serious injuries and was also transported to a hospital. There is no word on her condition at this time. Neither victim has been identified.
An investigation is underway.
