Davenport, FL - One Killed, One Hurt in Crash on Osceola Polk Line Rd.
Davenport, FL (March 15, 2023) - A car accident in Davenport left one person dead and another hurt on Wednesday afternoon, March 15th. The crash occurred around 3:45 p.m. on Osceola Polk Line Road near Old Lake Wilson Road.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2022 Ford F-150 was traveling northbound on Old Lake Wilson Road. At the same time, a semi-truck was traveling eastbound on Osceola Polk Line Road. The Ford make a left turn onto Osceola Polk Line Road and crashed into the oncoming semi-truck. The driver of the Ford died at the scene, while a passenger was transported to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The 31-year-old truck driver was not injured. None of the victims were identified.
A roadblock was set up at the scene as drivers were advised to find an alternate route of travel if possible. It is unclear if any charges will be filed.
An investigation is underway.
