DeLand, FL - 41-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed in Crash on CR 15A

DeLand, FL (March 5, 2023) -  A pedestrian was killed in a crash that took place in DeLand on Friday night, March 3rd. The accident was reported around 11:45 p.m. on County Road 15A.

According to a report, a 41-year-old man from Miami was walking on CR 15A when he was hit by a pickup truck. Authorities believe that a separate vehicle struck the man prior to being hit by the truck. The victim, whose identity was not released, was pronounced dead at the crash scene. The driver of the pickup remained at the accident scene and spoke with authorities. There is no description of the second vehicle available. 

No further information has been released. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.

A pedestrian crash in Florida is highly likely to lead to serious injuries or death. Last year, more than 500 people were killed when they were struck by a vehicle in our state.
