Deltona, FL - Motorcyclist Killed in Crash with Car at Deltona Blvd.

Deltona, FL (March 19, 2023) - Police in Deltona were called to the scene of a fatal motorcycle crash on Friday, March 17th. The collision happened around 6:00 p.m. on Providence Boulevard near the intersection with Murphy Avenue.

According to a report, a motorcyclist, later identified as 22-year-old Antonio Brown, was riding his motorcycle northbound on Providence. At the same time, a minivan was traveling southbound on Providence when the driver tried to make a left turn onto Murphy Avenue. The motorcycle and the van collided with each other. Brown suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the crash scene. The driver of the van was not hurt.

An investigation is ongoing. It is not clear if any charges are expected to be filed.

Riding a motorcycle comes with great risks. While many Floridians enjoy motorcycle riding as a hobby, the dangers should always be kept in mind. Over 80% of Florida motorcycle accidents will result in injuries, many of them serious and even fatal. Police will continue to investigate this crash.
