Jacksonville, FL - 18-Year-Old Killed in Crash on I-10

Jacksonville, FL (March 11, 2023) - The Florida Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene of a deadly crash on Saturday morning, March 11th. The crash occurred in the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 near US Highway 301.

According to a report from troopers, a 16-year-old was driving on I-10. For unknown reasons, he crossed onto the outside shoulder and struck an FDOT sign before traveling into the treeline. The driver was taken to UF Health Jacksonville with non-life-threatening injuries. An 18-year-old passenger in the car died at the scene. There were no other vehicles involved in the crash.

An investigation is underway at this time. No further details are available.

Fatal crashes in Florida happen multiple times each day. Many deadly accidents take place because of careless and reckless drivers.
