Jacksonville, FL - 61-Year-Old Man Killed in Crash with Road Rnager on Buckman Bridge

Jacksonville, FL (February 28, 2023) A 61-year-old man in Jacksonville lost his life in a crash with a Road Ranger on Tuesday morning, February 28th. The accident happened just before 3:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-295.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the pickup truck was traveling northbound when it was rear-ended by the Road Ranger. The pickup struck the guardrail and flipped over before hitting a light pole, going over a rail, and traveling into a river. The driver of the pickup truck died at the crash scene. He has not been identified at this time. 

No further injuries were reported. There is no word on whether any charges will be filed. An investigation is underway at this time.

Deadly crashes are reported on Florida's roadways approximately once every three hours. Rear-end collisions are the most common type of accident. While most people associate a rear-end accident with minor injuries, they can also cause serious and catastrophic injuries depending on a variety of factors related to the accident.
