Jacksonville, FL - Motorcyclist Critically Hurt in Crash on Otis Rd.
Jacksonville, FL (March 25, 2023) - A motorcyclist was critically hurt after a crash in Jacksonville on Friday night. The accident occurred just before 10:00 p.m. on Otis Road.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling on US Highway 90 when the driver tried to make a left turn onto Otis Road. As the Tahoe turned, it collided with a motorcyclist traveling in the opposite direction on Highway 90. The motorcycle rider was critically injured and was taken to UF Health Jacksonville for medical treatment. No other injuries were reported. Police did not identify either motorist involved.
An investigation is ongoing. There is no further information available.
Motorcyclists are at great risk of being seriously hurt if they are involved in a crash. According to statistics, nearly 80% of Florida motorcycle crashes end with injuries, and many of the injuries are serious or long-lasting in nature.
