Largo, FL (March 14, 2023) - The Largo Police Department was dispatched to the scene of a fatal pedestrian crash on Tuesday, March 14th. The crash occurred on Judy Lee Drive at the intersection with Lake Judy Lee Drive.

According to police, an elderly male was walking eastbound on Judy Lee Drive when he was hit by a Ford F-150 that was also traveling eastbound. The man was treated at the scene by paramedics. Initially, it was believed that he had suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a local hospital, however, where he was later pronounced dead. No additional injuries were reported in the accident. 

Police are still investigating the accident at this time. There is no further information available. 

Florida pedestrian accidents claim the lives of about 500 people each year. In addition, thousands of other victims will be hurt in crashes that take place on our local roadways. The cause of each pedestrian crash must be carefully investigated by authorities. In many instances, an accident takes place because of a negligent driver.
