Melbourne, FL - Fatal Car Accident on I-95 near Wickham Rd.
Melbourne, FL (March 21, 2023) – Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a deadly car accident in Melbourne on Tuesday morning, March 21st. The accident happened around 8:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 near Wickham Road.
Police say that a concrete truck and two other vehicles collided with each other. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while a second victim was airlifted to a local hospital. There is no information on the cause of the accident. Police have not released the identities of the victims. The road was shut down for several hours while an investigation took place. During this time, motorists were advised to avoid the area.
It is not clear whether any charges will be filed in connection with the accident. An investigation is underway.
