Nokomis, FL - One Dead in Car Accident on I-75 Southbound

Nokomis, FL (April 15, 2023) - One person is dead following a car accident in Nokomis on Saturday, April 15th. The crash happened around 7:15 p.m. on Interstate 75 Southbound at mile marker 196.

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene. According to troopers, the accident involved multiple cars. In addition to the deceased victim, at least one other motorists was injured. There is no information on the condition of the injured victim. The southbound lanes were closed down for several hours while officials investigated. Motorists were diverted onto alternate routes. There is no word on what caused the accident at this time. An investigation is ongoing.
