Orlando, FL - Deadly Hit-and-Run Crash Reported on Belvedere Rd.

Orlando, FL (February 6, 2023) - A pedestrian was killed in a crash that happened in Orlando on Sunday night, February 5th. The crash took place around 7:30 p.m. on Belvedere Road at the intersection with 10th Street.

According to troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol, a pedestrian was crossing the road when they were hit by a vehicle. Paramedics transported the injured victim to AdventHealth Orlando, but he was later pronounced dead. Police did not immediately identify the victim. The driver of the vehicle fled the area before authorities arrived. 

Investigators are currently searching for a suspect. There is no description of the vehicle or the individual available. 

No further information has been released.

Approximately 3,000 people will lose their lives this year in car accidents on Florida's roadways. This number may seem high, but it reflects the reality of just how dangerous it can be to drive in Florida.
