Orlando, FL - FHP Responds to Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on Colonial Blvd.

Orlando, FL (October 20, 2021) - Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol were at the scene of a deadly hit-and-run crash in Orlando on Monday, October 18th. The accident occurred around 4:35 a.m. at the intersection of Colonia Drive and Commerce Boulevard.

According to the police, there were three cars involved in the accident. The driver who caused the crash fled the scene before officials could arrive. Rescue workers pronounced one person dead at the accident scene. The victim's identity has not been released. An investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time.

No further information has been released.

 Hit-and-run accidents in Florida take place each and every day. According to statistics, about 20% of all reported Florida traffic accidents are classified as hit-and-run accidents. Although drivers are legally required to remain at the scene of car accidents in Florida, many choose to flee instead, hoping to avoid liability for their actions.
