Ormond Beach, FL - One Killed, Two Hurt in Car Accident on Palmetto Pines Dr.

Ormond Beach, FL (March 12, 2023) - Police in Ormond Beach were called to the scene of a serious car accident on Sunday, March 12th. The accident happened around 3:45 p.m. on State Road 40 near Palmetto Pines Drive.

According to a report, a pickup truck was traveling eastbound on SR 40. At the same time, a 26-year-old Ormond Beach man was traveling westbound in a van on the same road. The driver of the van entered a curve but failed to maintain control of his vehicle. The van struck the front of the pickup truck. The 26-year-old van driver died at the scene while two occupants of the truck were taken to a hospital with serious injuries. 

Police closed the road while they conducted an investigation into the accident. There is no word on the cause of the crash or the identities of the deceased victims. Motorists were advised to avoid the area.

No further details are available at this time. An investigation is ongoing.
