Port Charlotte, FL - One Killed in Motorcycle vs. Dump Truck Crash on Hwy. 17
Port Charlotte, FL (March 8, 2023) - One person was killed in a motorcycle crash that took place in Port Charlotte on Wednesday, March 8th. The accident occurred on Highway 17 near the intersection with Golf Course Boulevard.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a dump truck and a motorcycle were both involved in the collision. There is no word on exactly how the accident took place. Rescue crews rushed to the scene and attempted lifesaving medical treatment on the injured motorcyclist. Ultimately, the rider succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The victim was not identified.
There were no additional injuries reported in the collision. An investigation is ongoing at this time.
