Port St. Lucie, FL - Four Killed in Crash on I-95 near Gatlin Blvd.

Port St. Lucie, FL (April 2, 2023) - Police in Port St. Lucie responded to the scene of a deadly car accident on Sunday, April 2nd. The crash happened around 4:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 near Gatlin Boulevard.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a van was traveling southbound on I-95 when it collided head-on with a northbound pickup truck in the southbound lanes. A tractor-trailer traveling southbound struck both vehicles after the initial collision. The 43-year-old man driving the pickup died at the scene. The driver of the van, a 24-year-old woman, also died in the accident. A 33-year-old female passenger and a 27-year-old male passenger in the van also lost their lives due to the crash.

Toxicology tests revealed that the driver of the pickup truck had a blood alcohol content more than twice the legal limit. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured. No one involved in the accident has been identified.

No further information is available.
