Sarasota, FL (April 5, 2023) - Police in Sarasota were called to investigate a fatal hit-and-run accident on Tuesday, April 4th. The accident took place on Fruitville Road near Interstate 75.

Police say that a motorcyclist was traveling on Fruitville Road when the bike collided with an SUV. The driver of the SUV then fled the area. The car was found abandoned in the woods a short distance from the crash site. The motorcyclist was rushed to a hospital but later succumbed to their injuries. No other injuries were reported.

The accident remains under investigation. No additional details have been released at this time.

Motorcycle accidents occur daily in Florida. In some cases, there is little that can be done to avoid a crash due to the actions of careless drivers.
