Sarasota, FL - Motorcyclist Killed in Accident on Bee Ridge Rd.
Sarasota, FL (April 7, 2023) - A Sarasota man lost his life in a motorcycle crash that took place earlier this week. The accident occurred around 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5th.
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to Bee Ridge Road at the intersection with Shade Avenue. According to a report from troopers, a 76-year-old Sarasota woman was driving an SUV on Bee Ridge Road. The woman tried to make a left turn onto Shade Avenue. However, she turned into the path of an oncoming motorcycle, causing a crash between the two vehicles. The 19-year-old motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and struck a crosswalk pole. He suffered critical injuries and was later pronounced dead. The SUV driver sustained minor injuries.
The victim has not been identified at this time. A crash investigation is ongoing.
