Tarpon Springs, FL - Girl Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on U.S. 19
Tarpon Springs, FL (March 28, 2023) - Police in Tarpon Springs were called to the scene of a fatal hit-and-run crash on Tuesday morning, March 28th. The accident happened on U.S. Highway 19 near Klosterman Road.
According to a report from the scene, a 17-year-old girl tried to cross the road when she was hit by a Toyota pickup truck that was traveling northbound. The girl, who was not identified, died at the crash scene. The driver of the Toyota fled the area. Police are searching for a 2014-2017 Silver Toyota Tundra in connection with the accident. The truck is believed to have serious front-end damage.
An investigation is ongoing at this time. Anyone with details is asked to contact the Tarpon Springs Police Department.
