Alachua County, FL (July 21, 2019) - A man from Old Town was killed in a three-vehicle crash in Alachua County on Friday, July 19th. The crash happened around 8:15 p.m. on State Road 24.
According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, a Honda Accord traveled into the path of Jeep Cherokee before rotating clockwise and striking a Hyundai Sonata, which was driven by 18-year-old Marli Nipper. Both Marli Nipper and her passenger, Maci Nipper, were taken to UF Health Shands with serious injuries. The driver of the Accord also sustained serious injuries. The Jeep driver died in the crash. Troopers have not identified the deceased victim, pending family notification.
An investigation into the crash remains ongoing and police have not released a cause at this time. No further details are available.
