Early this morning, a boating accident took place on the Alafia River that led to a search. The search uncovered the body of one, and others were injured.
The accident took place in Riverview. Crews were called to the area of the Williams Park Boat Ramp in the area this morning to find that one person was missing in the water and others needed attention. Authorities had to rescue two people – a 12-year-old boy and a 33-year-old man. The 12-year-old received minor injuries in the accident and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
A search was launched for a missing third person, 41-year-old Brent Davis. His body was recovered later in the morning today. Investigators are still trying to discover why the accident occurred.
