An accident ended in tragedy for a little girl and her family in Boca Raton this week. The incident took place around 2 p.m. at the family’s home when the girl’s father and young sibling were waiting in the vehicle for the 15-month-old and her mother. The father, Andres Castillo, started to back up his vehicle so that the little girl and mother wouldn’t have to step in a puddle.
However, Castillo did not know that the 15-month-old had wandered out of the house and was in the driveway. The car’s front tire struck the girl. The parents drove to a medical center and claimed that Alaia was crying on the way.
She had very few visible injuries but doctors who cared for her said that her injuries were internal. She, unfortunately, passed away that night.
The family said she never previously tried to get out of the home.
