Baker County, FL (May 1, 2021) - A 63-year-old man is dead after an accident between a motorcycle and a car in Baker County. The accident took place around 4:10 p.m. on County Road 125 at the intersection with Sutton Trail.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a motorcycle was traveling northbound on CR 125. At the same time, a pickup truck was traveling in the opposite direction. The driver of the pickup made an abrupt left turn in front of the motorcycle causing the two vehicles to collide with each other. The unidentified motorcyclist died at the scene. There is no word on whether any other injuries were sustained.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing at this time and no further information is available.
Motorcycle crashes in Florida account for about 20% of all traffic-related fatalities in our state. Motorcycles are extremely dangerous when riders are involved in accidents. According to statistics, about 80% of all Florida motorcycle accidents resulted in injuries. These numbers are far greater than crashes involving passenger cars and other larger vehicles.
