Boca Raton, FL (August 18, 2021) - A 94-year-old woman died after she was hit by a car while crossing a road in Boca Raton on Wednesday. The crash happened on Glades Road near State Road 7.
Police say that Shirley Goldberg was crossing the road in a motorized wheelchair when she was hit by a van that was exiting a shopping center. Goldberg was rushed to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the van stopped at the scene and remained until officials arrived. The driver was not hurt in the accident.
An investigation remains ongoing by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. There is no further information available at this time.

In addition, many other pedestrians will be seriously hurt when they are struck by vehicles.
