Boca Raton, FL (April 10, 2021) - A federal judge was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Friday morning in Boca Raton. The collision took place around 10:20 a.m. in the 4000 block of North Ocean Boulevard near the intersection with NW 40th Street.
The Boca Raton Police Department responded to the crash scene. According to police, 75-year-old Sandra Feuerstein was standing on a sidewalk with a 6-year-old boy when a car that was driving erratically came onto the sidewalk and struck Feuerstein and the boy. Feuerstein was rushed to Delray Medical Center where she was pronounced dead as a result of her injuries. The boy was seriously hurt but is expected to survive.
Feuerstein was a federal judge in New York. Following the crash, police found the vehicle a few blocks away from the scene. After an investigation, 23-year-old Nastasia Andranie Sharpe was charged with vehicular homicide, hit-and-run involving death, and leaving the scene of a crash with serious injuries.
