Brevard County, FL (March 27, 2021) - One teenager died and another was hurt following a car accident on I-95 in Brevard County. The collision took place on Saturday, March 27th around 12:45 a.m.
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene near mile marker 162. According to the FHP, an 18-year-old from Coral Springs was driving northbound on I-95. For unknown reasons, the man's vehicle left the roadway and he collided with a pole. The 18-year-old, who was not identified, died at the crash scene. His 16-year-old female passenger was airlifted to Holmes Regional Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The 16-year-old was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash and it is not clear if the 18-year-old was wearing his seatbelt.
The collision remains under investigation. There is no further information available at this time.
