Bunnell, FL (September 11, 2019) - A man was killed and a woman suffered serious injuries in a pedestrian crash in Bunnell. The crash took place on Monday, September 9th around 8:30 p.m.
According to reports, 50-year-old John Cicalo and 39-year-old Julie Kerns were walking westbound along the right shoulder of Mahogany Boulevard. As the two reached the intersection with Forest Park Street, they were struck from behind by a 2016 Chevy pickup driven by 58-year-old Richard Schultz of Bunnell. Cicalo was killed at the scene while Kerns was taken to AdventHealth Palm Coast with serious injuries.
The cause of the crash remains uncertain and police have not said whether Schultz will be charged.
