Cape Coral, FL (October 2, 2018) - One person is dead following a semi-truck crash in Cape Coral. The crash occurred on Monday, October 1st.
Officers say that a car was traveling on Pine Island Road behind a tanker truck carrying liquid chlorine. Cape Coral police have identified the driver of the car as 40-year-old John Robert Jones, Jr. As the truck approached the intersection of Pine Island and 12th Avenue it slowed down. At that time, Jones's car crashed into the back of the truck. Jones was killed from the force of the collision. The semi-truck driver was not injured. Jones was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
