Bookelia, FL - Linda Potter Dies in Tricycle Accident on Stringfellow Road

A 74-year-old tricyclist is dead and a driver has been charged in connection with a crash that took place on Monday, March 11th. The Florida Highway Patrol responded to Stringfellow Road around 5:30 p.m. in reference to a crash involving a car and a bicycle. Investigators say that the victim, Linda Potter, was riding a tricycle northbound on Stringfellow when she attempted to make a left turn. 71-year-old John Lackey, III was driving directly behind Potter's tricycle at the time. Weston, FL - Bicyclist Critically Hurt in Crash on Saddle Club Road

A bicyclist was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle in Weston on Friday, February 22nd. The accident took place on Saddle Club Road at the intersection of Lakeview Drive. The Broward Sheriff along with Fire Rescue teams were at the scene around 7:30 a.m. The bicyclist, a woman in her 70s, was struck by a vehicle while riding in the roundabout on Saddle Club. Police believe that the driver was distracted by something in her vehicle, but do not believe that the distraction was caused by a cellphone. Neither the bicyclist, nor the driver were identified. Pinellas County, FL - Bicyclist Anthony Violante Killed in Sunday Crash

A 56-year-old bicyclist was killed in a crash that took place in Pinellas County on Sunday, February 17th. Police say that Anthony Violante was riding eastbound on West Bay drive. Violante was riding on the sidewalk when a driver attempted to make a westbound turn onto Bay Drive. The driver, a 17-year-old, struck Violante, who was ejected from the bicycle. Violante was taken by ambulance to Bayfront Hospital with serious injuries. He later passed away from his injuries. Read More

Bonita Springs, FL - Bicyclist Killed in Monday Crash on Bonita Beach Road

A collision between a bicycle and a car left a bicyclist dead on Monday, February 18th in Bonita Springs. The accident happened on Bonita Beach Road near Imperial Shores Boulevard. The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the crash scene. According to troopers, a 2012 Honda CRV was traveling in an eastbound direction on Bonita Beach along with a 1992 Chevrolet CK 1500. At the same time, 65-year-old Robert Thomas Miniger was riding his bike eastbound behind both vehicles. As the Honda attempted to change lanes, it cut off the Chevrolet, striking the front of that vehicle. After colliding with the Chevy, the Honda swerved toward the curb and struck Miniger. Read More

Brevard County, FL - Bicyclist Killed While Crossing State Road 520

A bicyclist in Brevard County died on Friday, February 15th after being struck by a vehicle on State Road 520. The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the crash scene to investigate. Troopers say that the bicyclist was attempting to crash SR 520 when they were struck by the vehicle, suffering critical injuries. The bicyclist was rushed to a nearby hospital and later died. Hillsborough County, FL - Johnny F. Renshaw Dies in Bicycle Crash on State Road 60

A man from Dover was killed when his bicycle was struck by a pickup truck while crossing State Road 60. The crash took place on Thursday, February 7th. The Florida Highway Patrol reports that 71-year-old Johnny F. Renshaw arrived at the intersection of SR 60 and Marge Owens Road around 7:05 pm. Renshaw, who was riding a bicycle, attempted to cross the street. As he was riding across the westbound lanes, he was struck by a 2005 Ford F150. Martin County, FL - 14-Year-Old Boy Airlifted After Bicycle Crash

A teenager suffered serious injuries and had to be airlifted to a local hospital in a bicycle accident that took place in Martin County on Wednesday, February 6th. The Florida Highway Patrol says that 14-year-old Ethan Romaine was riding his bike on a sidewalk on Southeast Community Drive around 12:30 pm when he was struck by a Scion xB hatchback. The driver of the Scion has been identified as Noah Trevor Caisse, 17, of Palm County. Troopers concluded that Caisse approached an intersection and failed to yield the right of way to Romaine, causing the accident to occur between the front passenger side of the vehicle and the bicycle. Sarasota, FL - Bicyclist Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle Sunday

A fatal accident involving a car and a bicycle was reported on Sunday, February 3rd in Sarasota. According to reports, the accident happened around 1:00 am in the northbound lanes of US 41. The Sarasota Police Department was called to the crash scene. Upon arrival, officers located a bicyclist who had been struck by a vehicle. The bicyclist sustained critical injuries and later succumbed to their injuries. The vehicle involved in the crash left the scene and was found several blocks away from the point of impact.
