Leesburg, FL - Jo Ann Taylor Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Pine Street

A 60-year-old woman is dead after being hit by two vehicles on Pine Street. The crash took place on Friday, March 22nd. Police say that Jo Ann Taylor was walking along Pine Street, near the intersection with Knott Street when she was struck by a 2006 Honda. Taylor was knocked over from the force of the collision. While she was lying in the roadway, several people came to her aid. At about the same time, a 2000 Saturn coupe struck both Taylor and 64-year-old June Griffin. Starke, FL - Tractor-Trailer Driver Hospitalized After Hit-and-Run Crash

A truck driver from Jacksonville was hospitalized with serious injuries following a hit-and-run crash in Starke on Friday, March 22nd. The crash, which involved to semitrucks, occurred on US 301 just after 9:00 pm. According to troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol, a tractor-trailer was traveling northbound on 301 when it left its lane of travel and collided with another tractor-trailer. The second truck was forced into a concrete barrier following the crash. A third vehicle, identified as a Dodge Ram, was also involved in the crash but the occupants did not suffer any injuries. Jacksonville, FL - Pedestrian Struck, Killed On Lenox Avenue

Police are investigating following a crash on Lenox Avenue that left a pedestrian dead. The crash took place on Saturday, March 24th around 10:00 pm. According officers with the Jacksonville Police Department, a man was walking along the road near the intersection with Old Middleburg Road when he was struck by a pickup truck. After impact, the driver of the pickup called police and remained at the crash scene until investigators arrived. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. West Palm Beach, FL - Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Saturday

A two-car crash in West Palm Beach left a man dead on Saturday, March 23rd. Police were called to the intersection of 42nd Street and Broadway just after 1:30 pm. Upon their arrival, investigators determined that a green Dodge and a gray Acura had collided with one another. A man was ejected from one of the vehicles following impact and was later pronounced dead. In addition, three others were taken to area hospitals for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. Orange County, FL - Passenger Killed After Being Ejected and Run Over

A passenger was killed after being ejected from a vehicle and run over following a crash on SR 408 in Orange County. The crash took place on Saturday, March 23rd. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, three vehicles were traveling eastbound on SR 408 when one of the vehicles struck a cement pole. A passenger in the vehicle was thrown from the car following impact. That is when a second vehicle, driven by 33-year-old Rodney Alexis, struck the passenger while he was lying in the roadway. Miami, FL - One Dead, Several Hurt in Three-Vehicle Crash on Krome Avenue

A crash involving three vehicles on Krome Avenue has left one person dead and several injured. The incident took place on Friday, March 22nd in Miami-Dade County. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a van, a pickup and a tractor-trailer were all traveling northbound on Krome. Suddenly, the van slowed for traffic that was stopped ahead. The driver of the pickup failed to slow down and slammed into the back of the van. The impact pushed the van into the southbound lanes, causing it to collide with the tractor trailer. Miami, FL - Person Killed While Changing Tire on the Highway

A person changing a tire along a Miami roadway was killed after being struck by a vehicle. The incident occurred just before 5:00 am on Northwest Avenue. Police were called to the scene and located the victim upon arrival. An investigation led to the conclusion that the person was changing a tire on the side of the roadway when a vehicle traveling in the eastbound lanes collided with the individual. The victim suffered catastrophic injuries and was pronounced dead. Officers have not identified the person that was struck at this time. St. Petersburg, FL - Impaired Driver Causes Wrong-Way Crash on I-275

A woman from Clearwater suffered serious injuries when her she was hit by a wrong-way driver. The collision occurred on Friday, March 22nd along Interstate 275. Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol report that 37-year-old Jessica Murphy was traveling in the northbound lanes of I-275 near the Gandy Boulevard exit. Murphy veered into the southbound lanes and struck a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Priscilla Mouzon. Murphy's car burst into flames after the collision. She was able to escape with minor injuries. Miami Beach, FL - Officer Taken to Hospital After Being Struck by Motorcycle

An officer on foot patrol was hospitalized for injuries after he was struck by a motorcyclist at a Miami intersection on Friday, March 22nd. The crash took place at the intersection of Collins Avenue and Seventh Street. Officials say that Sgt. Phil Elmore was walking near the intersection when he spotted a motorcyclist traveling the wrong way. Elmore attempted to stop the motorcyclist but instead was struck. Hillsborough County, FL - 17-Year-Old with Life-Threatening Injuries Following Crash

A 17-year-old pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries in a crash involving a vehicle on Saturday, March 23rd. The accident occurred in Hillsborough County on Providence Lakes Road, near Gornto Lake Road. The pedestrian was riding a skateboard when she collided with a Volkswagen Passat traveling on Providence Lakes. The girl was taken to Tampa General Hospital in critical condition. She sustained life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Passat stayed at the scene following the crash and cooperated with authorities.
