Lakeland, FL - 34 Students Injured as Two Buses Collide with One Another

Several students were hurt when two charter buses collided with one another in Lakeland on Friday, May 17th. The accident took place on Rockridge Road. According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, the two buses from Pepin Academies were traveling northbound on Rockridge. At the same time, a Ford F150 driven by Steven Collins had slowed to make a turn into a driveway. The F150's lights were inoperative at the time. The first bus then collided with the F150 as the bus driver was not able to see the brake lights on the F150. Tallahassee, FL - Child Struck While Waiting for School Bus

Police are investigating after a 5-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle while waiting at a bus stop in Tallahassee. The incident occurred around 7:30 am on Wednesday, October 31. Police say that the child was walking across the street to get to his school bus when he was struck by a vehicle at Ox Bottom Road near Tuscan Drive. The driver of the vehicle is identified as a 19-year-old male. According to school officials, the bus had come to a complete stop and had its flashing red light and stop sign out when the crash took place. The driver was charged with two citations for his role in the crash. He has since reached out to the victim's family and offered an apology. Read More

Riverview, FL - Student Hospitalized Following Bus Crash

A school bus crash on Wednesday, October 24th left one student hospitalized. The accident happened on County Road 672 near Balm Riverview Road. The school bus, from Barrington Middle School, was stopped at the time of the collision. The bus was then hit from behind by another vehicle. One student on board was transported to a nearby hospital with neck pain. No other injuries were reported. Read More

Fort Myers FL - Second Shooting in Two Days Reported at Area Shopping Center

Police in Fort Myers are looking for answers following a second shooting in two days at nearby shopping centers. The shooting in question occurred on Wednesday, October 10th at the Sungold Plaza strip mall. Police say that 41 year old Torre Deontray Fulcher and 43 year old William Allen Merrill III were gunned down by a rifle inside the strip mall on Wednesday night. Fulcher died shortly after the shooting while Merrill died on Thursday morning. Police have not made any arrests and are currently searching for the suspect or suspects in the shooting. Read More

Lauderhill, FL - Two Car Crash Narrowly Misses Home, Results in Injuries

A two-car crash was reported in Lauderhill on Monday, October 1st. The crash happened on 2341 NW 46th Avenue. According to the Lauderhill Fire Rescue, two cars were traveling down Northwest 46th Avenue when one driver cut off the other driver. The driver told officials that he tried to follow the car to get its license plate number but, instead, collided with the vehicle leading to a chain reaction crash with parked cars in front of the home. Jacksonville, FL - Negligent Security Lawsuit Filed in Landing Mass Shooting

The tragic mass shooting that occurred Sunday at Jacksonville Landing has already sparked a lawsuit from one of the victims. 23 year old Jacob Mitich filed suit Thursday. Mitich is a college student from Maryland who was attending the Madden gaming tournament at the Landing when the shots rang out. Mitich was struck in the leg and hospitalized before being released on Monday. Read More
