Tampa, FL - Two Killed in 15th Street Wrong-Way Crash

A truck traveling the wrong way caused a crash with several other vehicles in Tampa on Friday, August 23rd. The collision took place on 15th Street near 21st Avenue. The Tampa Police Department reports that a truck was traveling the wrong direction on 15th Street when it crashed into several parked cars. The driver of the truck, as well as a passenger, were killed in the accident. Neither of the victims has been identified at this time. No other injuries were reported as a result of the accident. Palmetto, FL - Two Killed By Hit-and-Run Driver on 49th Street East

Two people are dead following a tragic hit-and-run collision in Palmetto. The accident took place on 49th Street East around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 17th. Authorities report that 13-year-old Tyler Pittard was walking southbound along 49th Street, along with an unidentified 47-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman. According to police, that is when a 2003-2007 white Chevy Silverado left the roadway for unknown reasons and collided with the three pedestrians. The truck did not stop after striking the group and continued to travel in a southbound direction. Pittard and the 47-year-old man were killed in the crash. Nassau County, FL - One Dead, One Seriously Hurt in Head-On Crash on County Road 108

One man is dead and another is seriously hurt in a crash that took place in Nassau County. The collision occurred on County Road 108 around 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14th. Police say that a red Chevrolet Camaro was traveling westbound on CR 108 when the driver lost control. The Camaro veered into the opposite lanes and struck a Lincoln Town Car traveling eastbound. The driver of the Town Car, 54-year-old Wyatte Jones, was killed in the head-on collision. The Camaro driver, a 67-year-old man from Yulee, was taken to UF Health Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. There is no word on what caused the Camaro to travel over the centerline. Lakeland, FL - Two Killed in Head-On Crash on East Main Street

A two-car, head-on crash left two drivers dead in Lakeland. The crash was reported on Wednesday, August 14th. Polk County Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene at East Main Street, near Reynolds Road, around 4:30 p.m. According to officers, 64-year-old Delbert Kendall was driving a blue Ford Focus eastbound on East Main when his vehicle crossed over the centerline and collided with a Subaru Forester traveling westbound. The Forester was being operated by 40-year-old Case Hurt. Both Hurst and Kendall were pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other vehicles involved. Read More

Lauderhill, FL - Motorcyclist Struck and Killed by Police Vehicle During Chase

A man is dead after a collision between a motorcycle and a police vehicle in Martin County. The crash happened around 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 10th. Officers responded to the scene near I-95 in reference to a stolen vehicle. As police spotted the suspected vehicle, they began giving chase. An officer with the Lauderhill Police Department attempted to pull over near mile marker 92 during the chase. As the officer pulled over, a 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by 47-year-old Robert Alfred Perone clipped the rear fender of the police car. Perone's motorcycle rolled over several times before coming to rest in the grass. Perone died in the crash. The police officer had minor injuries and was taken to Jupiter Medical Center for treatment. Read More

Miami Beach, FL - Cyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run on the MacArthur Causeway

A cyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash along the MacArthur Causeway in Miami Beach. The incident occurred on Saturday, August 10th, around 1:20 a.m. According to Miami Beach Police, the driver was traveling in the westbound lanes of the Causeway when they struck the bicyclist, who was also traveling westbound. The bicyclist, who has not been identified, succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the crash, and the driver drove away following the incident. Police have located the car involved but are still searching for a person of interest in connection with the crash. A suspect has not been identified at this time. Read More

Miami, FL - Uber Eats Driver Killed in Hit-and-Run

An Uber Eats driver was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash while riding his scooter in Miami. The collision took place on Wednesday, August 7th. Police say that 65-year-old Julian Sotolongo was making a delivery early Wednesday near the intersection of Southwest 17th Avenue and Fifth Street. Sotolongo was struck by a car which fled the scene after the collision. Sotolongo died from his injuries. Two men were seen walking away from the vehicle after the crash. Police later recovered the car but are still looking for the suspects. Read More

Ocala, FL - Woman Killed in Tuesday Crash on South Pine Avenue Identified

A woman who died in a two-vehicle crash in Ocala earlier this week has been identified by authorities. The crash in question took place on Tuesday, July 23rd along South Pine Avenue. According to reports from the Ocala Police Department, Lisa Ayers Schick was driving a 2001 Ford Focus southbound. At the same time, 18-year-old Mikala D. Hudson was driving a 2015 Nissan Sentra northbound. When the cars came to an intersection, Schick attempted to make a left turn onto Southwest Fifth Street when her vehicle was T-boned by Hudson's Nissan. Schick was extricated from the car by rescue workers and taken to a local hospital. She died from her injuries on Thursday, July 25th. Hudson was not hurt in the collision. Read More
