Orlando, FL - 2 Killed, 2 Hurt in Crash on Colonial Drive

Two women were killed and two others suffered injuries in a crash that took place in Orlando on Thursday, January 16th. The crash took place around 2:40 a.m. along Colonial Drive. The Orlando Police Department responded to the crash scene. According to officers, the crash involved a Volkswagen Jetta and a Ford F-150. According to investigators, the Ford was driving erratically when it collided with the Jetta. 20-year-old Angelesea P. Rock and 19-year-old Shaunte J. Chambers were killed in the crash. Both deceased victims were occupants of the Jetta. Two other passengers in that vehicle, 20-year-old Taylor Morgan and 20-year-old Jada Fraser were hurt and were transported to the hospital in stable condition. The Ford driver fled the scene after the crash but was later located by police. His identity has not been revealed at this time. Read More

Northwest Miami-Dade, FL - 1 Killed, 1 Hurt in Crash Involving Stolen Vehicle

A woman was killed and a man suffered injuries after their car was struck by a stolen vehicle in Northwest Miami-Dade. The crash took place around 8:30 p.m. on Friday, January 3rd near the intersection of Northwest 135th Street and Seventh Avenue. According to police, detectives spotted a stolen Mercedes-Benz in the area and initiated a pursuit of the car. The Mercedes failed to stop, however, and continued through an intersection before colliding with a dark-colored vehicle. The impact of the crash caused car parts to be strewn into the intersection. A woman in the dark-colored vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene by rescue workers. A male passenger in the same car was taken to the hospital in unknown condition. Read More

North Port, FL - 61-Year-Old Uber Passenger Killed in New Year’s Crash

An Uber passenger was killed in a crash involving another vehicle on Tuesday, December 31st in North Port. The crash happened at approximately 6:10 p.m. near the intersection of Toledo Blade Boulevard and Woodhaven Drive. According to police, David Flick was riding with another man as a backseat passenger in an Uber vehicle. That is when police say that their vehicle was struck by a 2008 Ford F-250 driven by 41-year-old Marck Barcia. The crash took place in the intersection but there is no word on the cause at this time. Rescue workers arrived at the scene and pronounced Flick dead from his injuries. Both the Uber driver and the other passenger were taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Read More

Sarasota, FL - 60-Year-Old Woman Killed in 2-Car Crash on South Shade Avenue

A 60-year-old woman was killed in a two-car crash in Sarasota. The crash happened on Wednesday, January 1 just before 1:00 a.m. Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the intersection of South Shade Avenue and Grove Street in response to the collision. According to reports, 71-year-old Brian Kelly was driving a Honda Civic northbound on South Shade near the intersection with Grove Street. Kelly made a left turn in front of a southbound Ford Explorer and the two cars collided with one another. Kelly and a 22-year-old driver of the Explorer sustained minor injuries. Kelly's 60-year-old passenger died as a result of injuries suffered in the collision. The victim has not been identified at this time. Read More

Boynton Beach, FL - Roxene Foster Killed While Standing Along Shoulder of I-95

A 29-year-old woman was killed as she stood along the shoulder of I-95 in Boynton Beach on Friday, December 27th. The crash occurred around 7:10 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the highway. Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol arrived on the scene shortly after the crash occurred. According to reports, Roxene M. Foster's 2007 Hyundai Tucson became disabled and was parked on the shoulder, along with a 2013 Hyundai. Troopers say that a 2005 Acura driven by 56-year-old Dennis Maza Bodee left the roadway and traveled onto the shoulder, striking Foster. She was thrown into the air and hit the windshield of the 2013 Hyundai before landing in the grass. Foster died from injuries suffered in the crash. Bodee continued traveling after the impact and was stopped by witnesses approximately a half-mile from the crash scene. Read More

Inverness, FL - 3 Dead in Wrong-Way Crash on S Pleasant Grove Road

Three people were killed in a wrong-way crash in Inverness on Monday, December 24th. The crash happened on South Pleasant Grove Road near East Amy Lane According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 53-year-old Phillip Sawhill of Land 'o Lakes was traveling northbound on Pleasant Grove when he attempted to pass a vehicle in a no-passing zone. As Sawhill passed the vehicle, he collided head-on with a Kia traveling in the opposite direction. Sawhill's Camry caught fire after the collision. The driver of the Kia, along with two passengers, were pronounced dead at the scene. The victims have been identified as 62-year-old Amalia Gomara, 86-year-old Clara Gorrin, and 85-year-old Nilda Cordovi. Sawhill suffered serious injuries. Read More

Hillsborough County, FL - 2 Killed, 2 Hurt in Monday Crash on Gavin Road

Two people were killed and two more hurt in a crash that took place in Hillsborough County on Monday, December 23rd. The crash was reported at the intersection of Gavin Road and Mott Road near Dover. According to deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, two victims were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Two others were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Polk County, FL - 81-Year-Old Woman Killed in US 27 Crash

An 81-year-old woman was killed in a crash that took place in Polk County on Friday, December 13th. The accident occurred around 10:25 a.m at the intersection of South Boulevard and US 27. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 45-year-old Gary Senner was driving a Peterbilt truck on South Boulevard around 10:25 a.m. As Senner approached the intersection with US 27 he failed to stop at a stop sign. An approaching semi-truck swerved to avoid the crash. The semi driver lost control and collided with the rear-end of a Lexus SUV. The semi continued into the northbound lanes of US 27 where it struck the front of a Cadillac. The 64-year-old Cadillac driver sustained serious injuries and an 81-year-old passenger was rushed to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Both the semi driver and the Lexus driver were treated for minor injuries. Read More
