Dade City, FL - Man Killed in Early Morning Hit-and-Run

A hit-and-run in Dade City left one man dead on Saturday, January 12th. The incident took place around 2:00 am on Highway 301. The man, identified as 27-year-old Johnson Frye, Jr. was walking on the southbound shoulder of the roadway. Suddenly, Frye was struck by a Nissan Altima that was also headed south. Volusia, FL- Authorities Investigating Fatal Crash on Dirksen Drive and DeBary Avenue

A fatal crash at the intersection of DeBary Avenue and Dirksen Drive resulted in the death of at least one person on Wednesday, January 9th. The Florida Highway Patrol arrived on scene just after 3:00 am. There they discovered a crash involving multiple vehicles and blocking the right two lanes of Interstate 4. Imokalee, FL - Motorcyclist Killed in Three-Vehicle Crash in Alligator Alley

A motorcyclist riding in the Alligator Alley area was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Tuesday, January 1st. The accident took place on I-75 in Collier County. According to reports, the motorcyclist was riding behind a Toyota Sienna when the Sienna slowed down in front of him. The rider failed to slow in time and crashed into the back of the Sienna. A Honda CR-V traveling behind the motorcycle then slammed into the back of the bike. The motorcycle rider sustained serious injuries and later succumbed to those injuries. Columbia County, FL - Woman Struck and Killed While Stepping Out of Vehicle

A 55-year-old Tennessee resident was killed when she was struck after exiting her vehicle. The incident happened on Monday, December 31st. Around 9:15 pm, the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the southbound lanes of Interstate 75, near mile marker 409. Troopers report that Dawn Broyles was a passenger in a truck traveling on I-75. For unknown reasons, Broyles exited the truck and ended up being struck and landing in the grass shoulder along the side of the roadway. She died at the scene. Read More

Ocala, FL - One Killed, Another Seriously Hurt in Saturday Hit-and-Run

A hit-and-run on Saturday, December 22nd has left one person dead and another suffering from serious injuries. The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene around 7:30 pm at the intersection of Northeast 25th Avenue and Northeast 38th Street. That is where police say that two pedestrians were attempting to cross the road. At the same time, a vehicle was traveling southbound on Northeast 25th Avenue and struck both of the pedestrians. The vehicle driver left the scene before police could arrive. Rescue units rushed both pedestrians to Ocala Regional Medical Center. Naples, FL - Felix E. Sanchez Arrested in DUI Crash That Killed Passenger

A fatal crash was reported in Naples on Thursday, December 20th. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 27-year-old Felix E. Sanchez was driving a red Dodge Avenger in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 when his vehicle sideswiped a stalled box truck. At the time of the crash, Sanchez was carrying a 25-year-old passenger. Sanchez's passenger, who has not been identified, suffered critical injuries in the crash and later died. Sanchez attempted to flee the crash scene by running into a nearby set of woods. He was eventually apprehended by police. Martin County, FL - Eddie Smith Killed in Four-Vehicle Crash

A 61-year-old man was killed in a crash on Northeast Collin Kelly Highway. The crash happened around 2:20 on Friday, December 21st. The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the accident scene. According to troopers, a Ford Edge and Hyundai Genesis were both traveling southbound near Bayberry Road. At the same time, a Toyota 4Runner and a vehicle driven by Eddie Smith were traveling northbound. Waldo, FL - Sharon Wilson Dies in Bicycle Crash on US 301

A 50-year-old woman died after her bicycle was struck by a tractor-trailer along US 301 in Waldo. The incident happened around 6:25 am on Wednesday, December 12th. According to Florida Highway Patrol, Sharon Wilson was attempting to cross US 301 near 150th Avenue and Waldo Road. At that time, she was struck by a tractor-trailer traveling northbound. The driver of the tractor-trailer has been identified as 46-year-old Vinicio Fermin Perez of Brandon. Following the collision with Perez's truck, Wilson was ejected from the bicycle and landed in the southbound lanes of the highway. She was then run over by two other vehicles. Coral Springs, FL - One Killed, Five Hurt in Sawgrass Expressway Crash

One person died and five others were hurt in a crash that occurred on the Sawgrass Expressway. The incident happened on Tuesday, December 11th. Police responded to the southbound lanes of the roadway just before Commercial Boulevard. The Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department was one of several units who responded to the crash. According to authorities, one person was killed in the crash. Another person was seriously hurt and was airlifted to Broward Health Medical Center in critical condition. Jacksonville, FL - Sheriff’s Office Employee Killed in DUI Crash

A Jacksonville Sheriff's Office bailiff was killed in a crash involving a drunk driver over the weekend. The crash took place around 1:15 am on Sunday, December 9th. The Florida Highway Patrol says that 46-year-old Kim Johnston was driving an Acura in the northbound lanes of I-95 when she collided with a Chevrolet Tahoe. The Tahoe was carrying a family of four including Cathy Adams. The impact of the collision caused the SUV to lose control and overturn after veering across several travel lanes. Cathy Adams suffered critical injuries in the crash and was rushed to the hospital. Adams was put on life support at a local hospital and later succumbed to her injuries. Adams was an employee of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. Read More
