Charlotte County, FL (August 15, 2019) - A child riding a bicycle was hit by a car in Charlotte County on Wednesday, August 14th. The crash happened around 8:30 a.m. in the 4000 block of Beaver Lane.
According to police, a vehicle was leaving a parking lot and drove across a sidewalk, striking the 8-year-old girl on her bicycle. The crash knocked the girl off of the bicycle. She was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the crash and no word has been released on whether the driver is facing charges.
