Charlotte County, FL (June 30, 2021) - Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a serious crash in Charlotte County on Tuesday. The accident happened on State Road 31 near Little Farm Road.
According to troopers, a 33-year-old woman from Punta Gorda was driving a passenger car when she came to the intersection. The woman ran a stop sign and entered the path of a semi-truck that was traveling southbound. The woman died at the scene while an 11-year-old male passenger in her vehicle was transported to a hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating at this time.
