Charlotte County, FL (February 8, 2019) - The Florida Highway Patrol was called to the scene of a fatal crash in Charlotte County on Thursday, February 7th. According to authorities, the accident took place at State Road 31 and Bermont Road.
77-year-old James Henry Garnett and 78-year-old Daisy Garnett were pronounced dead at the scene. Officers say that James Garnett was driving a 2014 Kia Soul approaching an intersection with a flashing red light. As he got to the intersection, Garnett proceeded through the red light and collided with a truck traveling southbound. The truck driver, 54-year-old Pedro Dominguez, was not hurt.
