Charlotte County, FL (November 18, 2019) - Two people sustained serious injuries in a crash involving a semi-truck on I-75 in Charlotte County. The crash took place on Monday, November 18th in the northbound lanes of I-75.
Police report that 56-year-old Victor Woodard was operating a vehicle in the southbound lanes when, for unknown reasons, he drove his car into the northbound lanes. While in the northbound lanes, he collided with the right side of a semi-truck that was traveling northbound on I-75. Woodard was thrown from his car and landed in a grassy embankment. Woodard and passenger, 26-year-old Quajay Williams, were both taken to Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the truck was not hurt in the collision.
Police charged Woodard with an improper lane change and failure to wear a seatbelt for his role in the crash. No additional information is available at this time.
