Citrus Hills, FL (June 24, 2021) - A 21-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Citrus Hills on Wednesday. The accident took place just after 3:00 p.m. on County Road 486 near the intersection with North Annapolis Avenue.
According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was driving a van westbound on CR 486 when she came to the intersection. At the same time, a 19-year-old Hernando man was traveling eastbound on an SUV approaching the same intersection. The Hernando man made a left turn and collided with the van, causing it to overturn and spin multiple times. The woman, who was not identified, was taken to a hospital where she later died. Her passengers, an 18-year-old woman, and a 1-year-old boy suffered serious injuries. The man from Hernando sustained minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation at this time. No further information has been reported.
