Clay County, FL (October 29, 2019) - One person was killed and seven others were injured in a head-on crash in Clay County on Sunday, October 27th. The crash was reported around 9:50 p.m. on State Road 16 near Mary Dot Lane.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Shawn Mcleod from Middleburg, FL was driving a Nissan Xterra westbound on SR 16. Mcleod veered into the eastbound lane where he collided head-on with a van carrying seven occupants. Mcleod was pronounced dead at the crash scene. All of the passengers in the van were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. There is no further update on their conditions.
Police have not said what caused the crash. There is no further information available at this time.
