Clearwater, FL (January 8, 2020) - A crossing guard with the Clearwater Police Department was hurt in a hit-and-run crash that took place on Wednesday, January 8th. The crash happened at the intersection of Belcher Road and Catalina Drive.
According to reports, Ernest Comeau was working at the scene when he was struck by a vehicle driven by 68-year-old Gregory Olson. Olson left the scene before police could arrive. Rescue officials transported Comeau to Morton Plant Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Olso was later apprehended and charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving serious bodily injury and driving with a suspended license.
