Motorcycle accidents in Florida claim the lives of about 500 people each year. Motorcyclists are far more likely than other types of motorists to be killed or seriously injured in traffic accidents. According to statistics, motorcycles make up only about 3% of all registered motor vehicles in Florida yet they account for approximately 20% of all the fatal crashes that are reported in our state. Motorcycles offer little protection from the force and impact of a crash and motorcyclists are often thrown from their bike following the accident. These factors combine to produce the catastrophic outcomes that we often see from Florida motorcycle crashes.
We would like to offer our most sincere condolences to the victim's family following this fatal accident in Clermont.
