Clermont, FL (August 21, 2018) - A big rig and one other vehicle were involved in a serious crash today on State Road 33 in Clermont. Officials received a call just after 7:30 am regarding the accident. The Florida Highway Patrol, along with fire and rescue workers responded to the crash scene.
One person was declared dead at the scene. According to troopers, several others were injured in the accident though the extent of their injuries is not clear at this time. Troopers have not provided any detail on how the accident occured. The deceased individual has not been identified at this time.
Officers remained on scene for several hours while they investigated the crash. State Road 33 was closed during the investigation and traffic in the area was forced to take an alternate route around the accident.
