Clewiston, FL - One Killed, One Hurt in Crash near Evercane Road

Clewiston, FL (February 6, 2021) - One person was killed and another suffered critical injuries in an accident that took place in Clewiston on Friday, February 5th. The crash happened around 1:00 p.m. on U.S. Highway 27 near Evercane Road.

Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the crash scene. According to a report, a 79-year-old Belle Glade man was driving on U.S. 27 when he made a left turn. As he turned, his car was struck by a pickup truck that was traveling in the opposite direction. The man, who has not been identified, was killed in the crash. His passenger, a 64-year-old woman from Belle Glade sustained critical injuries. The driver and a passenger in the pickup truck were not hurt. There were no other vehicles involved.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing. No further information is available at this time.
