Columbia County, FL (May 1, 2019) - Three teenagers were hurt in a crash that took place on Tuesday, April 30th.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports that 40-year-old Shemeaka Burnett, of Fayetteville, North Carolina was traveling westbound on I-10 when she lost control of her vehicle. Burnett's vehicle traveled across the median before overturning several times and coming to a stop in the roadway. Three teenage passengers, an 18-year-old, a 16-year-old and a 15-year-old, were ejected as the vehicle rolled. The 15 and 16-year-old were taken to UF Health Shands with critical and serious injuries. The 18-year-old suffered minor injuries.
Burnett suffered minor injuries. Following an investigation, she was issued charges related to DUI and careless driving.
