Crestview, FL (October 6, 2018) - Four people suffered injuries in a crash on State Road 85. The crash took place on Thursday, October 4th.
Just before 9:00 pm, a Nissan driven by 49-year-old David Anderson was traveling north on SR 85, near the intersection of Mirage Avenue. At the same time, a Ford pickup driven by 25-year-old Kaitlynn Carpenter of Crestview was approaching from the opposite direction. Anderson turned in front of Carpenter, causing a collision. Anderson's car then hit another car, a Ford, driven by 45-year-old Sharee Bell. Bell was sitting at a stop light when the crash occurred. Carpenter's truck then hit a power pole.
Eyewitnesses gave multiple conflicting accounts of what occurred. Anderson's passenger, Beverly Abbott, was injured in the crash and taken to North Okaloosa Medical Center. Bell was also treated for injuries at North Okaloosa Medical Center. Anderson was charged with failing to yield the right of way, causing a crash. The road was closed for over an hour until it was re-opened around 10:13 pm.
