Dade City, FL (March 26, 2021) - A man from Ormond Beach was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Friday, March 26th in Dade City. The accident took place around 11:15 a.m. on U.S. Highway 301 near Owans Road and Trilby Road.
According to police, the 73-year-old Ormond Beach man was driving a Chevy Traverse southbound. At the same time, a Lincoln Town Car driven by a 30-year-old woman from Webster was traveling northbound on U.S. 301. For unknown reasons, the Lincoln crossed the dividing line of the roadway and collided head-on with the Chevy. The Lincoln rotated before coming to rest in the roadway. The Chevy veered onto the shoulder and collided with an unoccupied vehicle.
The 73-year-old Chevy driver was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The 30-year-old woman was hospitalized for serious injuries but is expected to survive. No one involved in the crash was identified.
An investigation is underway at this time. No further information is available.
