Dania Beach, FL (April 9, 2019) - A crash involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian has left one person dead, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office. The crash took place in the 200 block of East Sheridan Street.
According to reports, 24-year-old Lawrence Johnson was walking in the median when he stepped off and attempted to cross the street. Johnson walked into the path of 25-year-old Davonte Gray, who was riding a 2019 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle westbound in the far right lane. Gray was ejected from the motorcycle during the collision and landed in a grassy swale.
Johnson and Gray were taken to Memorial Hospital, where Johnson was pronounced dead and Gray was given medical treatment. An investigation into the crash is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Michael Wiley at 954-321-4840.
