Delray Beach, FL (September 9, 2021) - An 84-year-old man was killed in a two-car accident that took place on Wednesday, September 8th in Delray Beach. The crash occurred at the intersection of Lyons Road and Atlantic Avenue.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office responded to the accident scene. According to deputies, 86-year-old Stephanie Bloom was driving southbound in a 2021 Nissan Rogue when she tried to make a left turn onto Atlantic Avenue. At the same time, Ahama Khazem, of Boca Raton, was driving a 2018 Toyota Camry northbound on Lyons. Bloom drove into Kahzem's lane of travel, causing his vehicle to collide with the side of the Rogue. Richard Simpson, a passenger in Bloom's vehicle suffered critical injuries. He was taken to Delray Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
Deputies are investigating the accident. There have been no charges filed at this time.
