27-year-old Deputy Matthew Housam received injuries when he was involved in a four-car accident that happened in Escambia County on Saturday night. The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. when the deputy was driving his marked vehicle and had his emergency equipment activated.
29-year-old Minki Steeb was exiting the highway when Housam collided with her 2015 Optima. She had children in her vehicle at the time. When the collision occurred, the Tahoe crossed over the center median and collided with a 2013 Nissan Sentra and Traverse.
Housam and Steeb were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. There were no other injuries in the accident.
Charges are pending.
