DeSoto County, FL (May 28, 2021) - A 22-year-old man was killed in a car accident that took place in DeSoto County on Friday afternoon. The collision happened on U.S. Highway 17 near the intersection with Skates Street.
According to police, the male victim was crossing east to west on horseback. As he crossed the road, the man was hit by a car and suffered critical injuries. The unidentified victim was taken to a nearby hospital for additional treatment but later succumbed to his injuries. The SUV driver was not hurt in the accident.
The crash is being investigated by authorities. At this time, there is no additional information available.
